Our Charity Work
Rachel’s story was the subject of a news item on Central Television in 1994 following various open-heart surgery operations that were carried out by the Cardio Vascular Department at Glenfield. Her life was literally hanging in the balance and she was able to benefit from the provision of an ECMO machine, a life-saving unit which is extremely costly.
The whole concept of Heartlife was created to raise funds to purchase ECMO and other similar machinery to donate and/or give to selected UK hospitals which would provide treatment and relief for heart problem-related patients.
This would assist towards the relief of sickness in children and adults, particularly those suffering from heart and lung irregularities.
Examples of our fundraising activities would be:-
Collection boxes (street and sited boxes at various locations)
Sponsored events (download your sponsorship form in word format here)
Soliciting donations from Rotary, Round Table, Lions and other similar organisations.
By organising tabletop and/or car boot style sales
Sale of Heartlife promotional products, etc. e.g. mugs, key rings, pens, etc.
Soliciting donations from corporate bodies and charitable trust, etc.
Sale of raffle and competition tickets
By organising specific fund raising functions
